THE ALABASTER THAT INSPIRES THE ORIENT

Our alabaster from Gelsa welcomes you in a mansion built in Chinese-Western style
in the 1920's decade, which is so popular in Shanghai.

The Gelsa alabaster extracted  from an original vein in the quarry which stands in the heart of Teruel, it is moulded by the hands of  craftsmen  from UnitedAlabaster to light up and decorate the majestic villa in the most cosmopolitan city in China, Shanghai Songjiang.

The restoration has been carried out keeping the old structures of the building with its influences of  Art Deco. An artistic  style which took place in the first decades of the XX century. Still, the period when it reached its peak was in the 1920s decade. Art Deco originated in the city of  Paris but it was present in several countries. This style aimed to depict lines and shapes  taken from Geometry. Among these shapes , it is common to find rays or oblique lines, circles, semi-circular archs, triangles  or straight lines.

The great  original architectural openings in the mansion are culminated by two impressive  intertwined alabaster panes which lead to the central hall and give meaning to all the explendour in its entirety. The perfect balance between the curved and straight lines of the ornamental lamps which decorate different rooms give an amazing continuity of white shades and  cloudy veinings. A concept, minimalist in essence, which brings back the details of the Art Deco movement.

These excellent details of alabaster, which have a great ornamental value, provide the architectural design with a warm  and pleasant atmosphere for the well-being of its inhabitants.
